Turn food scraps into nutrient-rich compost with the help of hardworking worms! Vermicompost is the process of using composting worms to break down organic waste-like fruit and vegetable scraps-into a rich, soil like material called worm casings. These worm castings make an excellent natural fertilizer for plants.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to set up and maintain your own vermicompost bin from start to finish. We will cover everything you need to know - includieng choosing the right bin, bedding materials, feeding your worms, troubleshooting common issues and harvesting finished compost. Materials are included: red wiggler worms, bin and bedding.
Participants will leave with practical know-how and tips to keep their worms happy and productive.
Please dress to get messy. Each participant will also receive a 10% off coupon for The Bee Works Gift Shop.
