As of December 1, 2018, a new regulation has been enforced by Health Canada, requiring beekeepers to obtain a veterinarian’s prescription for bee antibiotics.
Dancing Bee Equipment has established a relationship with Dr. Kyle Goldie, a veterinarian and beekeeper. Dr. Goldie is able to, upon establishing a valid veterinary-client-patient relationship (VPCR), prescribe antibiotics for you as beekeepers, allowing continuity of your on-going management strategy. Prescriptions from other veterinarians will also be accepted at the discretion of Dancing Bee Equipment. A strong requirement is that your veterinarian is highly knowledgeable in honey bee diseases including treatments & dosage.
We encourage you take advantage of this service and treat your colonies per the recommendations of the Provincial Apiarist.
